For more than a quarter of a century, Seminole State College head baseball coach Lloyd "Zero" Simmons has produced winning baseball teams.As a matter of a fact, on Feb. 15, 1999, Simmons became the winningest baseball coach in the nation with a record of 1,495-271 when the Trojans defeated Texarkana Junior College, 15-14 in 10 innings. John Conn
Long-time friend and supporter of Trojan Baseball, John Conn, passed away February 4, 2008 in Tulsa. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife, Bettie, and the many members of the Trojan Baseball family who have been blessed by John's generosity and hard work over the years.
Services have been set for Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home ( www.swearingenfuneralhome.com ).
The family has established a fund through the Seminole State College Educational Foundation to directly benefit the SSC Trojan Baseball Program. Contributions may be sent to the Foundation at P.O. Box 351, Seminole, OK 74868.
Eric Myers, who served as Head Coach for the Seminole State College Trojan Baseball Team from 2001 to 2006,passed away early Saturday morning, December 1, 2007 in Choctaw after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
Coach Myers was a former NJCAAAll-American pitcher while a student-athlete at Seminole, and was drafted to play professional baseball for the Oakland A's. He was a past president of the Seminole State College Baseball Alumni Association and was inducted into the College's Alumni Hall of Fame last spring.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday,December 6, 2007 at10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Choctaw - 2700 Main Street.
Services will be under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home located at 2190 N. Harper in Choctaw.
