The first annual Trojan Diamond Dinner was held on the campus of Seminole State College, Saturday evening, January 28, 2006 was a huge success with over 275 people attending. Former Trojan, current L.A. Dodger pitcher, & Cy Young Award Winner, Eric Gagne, served as the special guest speaker, along with Ryan Franklin, former Trojan & current Philadelphia Phillies pitcher, and Shane Halter, former Trojan & retired K.C. Royal & Detroit Tiger infielder.

The crowd gave a standing ovation to former Trojan Head Coach & current K.C. Royal Rookie Coach, Lloyd "Zero" Simmons, who was emotionally moved by the applause. Simmons coached the Trojans for 27 Seasons, 1,599 wins to 294 losses, a national record for the most wins by a coach at any college level.

Special guest speaker, Eric Gagne, patiently signed autographs and took pictures prior to the start of the program. He made a special effort to greet the 2006 Trojan baseball team at their tables. In speaking to the crowd, Gagne stated, "that it was Seminole Trojan baseball that taught him the work ethic he continues to use today."

Current Head Coach Eric Myers said, "The packed room (over 275 attending) is a tribute to the years of tradition that Seminole Trojan baseball has had over the years and continues to have today. It is an honor to have former Trojan players travel from all parts of the country to attend this special event."

The Trojan baseball "tradition" is storied and over the years young men from all over the world have come to Seminole, Oklahoma to play for legendary Coach Lloyd "Zero" Simmons and current Coach Eric Myers.
